Stand On The Spectacular Summit Of Carrauntoohil, Ireland's Highest Mountain

Climb through glaciated corries, past deep mountain lakes and along ice carved ridges to stand on Carrauntoohil's lofty cloud strewn summit, at 1040 meters above sea level.

From the top of Ireland's highest peak savour breathtaking views over the Iveragh, Beara and Dingle Peninsulas, as far as Skellig Michael and the Blasket Islands. Discover legends and local history with an experienced, knowledgeable guide, as you explore the majestic MacGillycuddy Reeks.

On a misty day enjoy the excitement of swirling cloud, piercing rays of sunshine and the occasional treat of views revealed through a friendly parting in the clouds.

This challenging climb is for experienced hill walkers and participants of our other guided climbs or courses.

Tackle these three mighty peaks which tower above Kerry, forming the renoun and classic Coomloughra Horseshoe.

Experience some of the best views in the MacGillycuddy Reeks from Beenkeragh's high, exposed summit. Scramble the narrow, exhilarating Beenkeragh Ridge with its yawning drops. From Carrauntoohil navigate the equally spectacular Caher Ridge, with the Black Valley far below, before descending from Caher into Coomloughra Glen.

Are you an experienced hill walker looking to take the next step onto more adventurous terrain? Have you scrambling experience, but are looking to consolidate your skills and learn to use a rope and anchors? Do you want to tackle Ireland's classic mountaineering route, Howling Ridge?

Over two intensive days in Kerry's MacGillycuddy Reeks you will cover route choice, scrambling techniques, rope work and anchors, plus on the second day make a roped and guided ascent of Howling Ridge.
