All course instructors come from a background of public outdoor education, private adventure tourism, extreme adventure and soft guiding; giving a depth of experience and understanding of the outdoor industry and the requirements for quality guides and instructors.

All course instructors also run their own adventure guiding and training businesses, giving them an understanding of the challenges and issues with running successful businesses; adapting to change and niche markets. Shane McElligott and Tim Orr are two of Ireland's most experienced and highest qualified instructors, in their fields. Marie Lyons runs a thriving first aid training company and was previously centre manager at Delphi Adventure Centre. Nathan Kingerlee has set up and run Outdoors Ireland over the past ten years, which now has two bases and new products each year.

Before completing an instructor assessment a number of hours are required logging experience with a qualified instructor. It can be a little difficult sometimes to log these hours; however students on our course will have the opportunity to work alongside our instructors and log some of the required hours.
