Mountain Skills Assessment is a two day course based at Kerry Ocean Lodge, in Glenbeigh, County Kerry. The aim of this course is to confirm that you have reached a certain skill level.
Mountain Skills Scheme > Mountain Skills Assessment

This skill level means that you can plan and follow a route in the Irish Mountains, safely deal with any steep ground you may encounter, deal with any unplanned situations and navigate home, even in bad weather or after dark. The assessment includes a Written Test, Equipment Check, Day and Night Navigation, Route Choice and Moving on Steep Ground. As well as you being assessed there is also some further training involved over the two days. Mountain Skills Assessment is a pre-requisite to the Mountain Leader Scheme.

The residential price is €270 per person.
Price includes:
Two Days Hill Walking. Night Navigation. Two Nights Twin-Room Accommodation.
Two Breakfasts. Two Packed Lunches. One Three-Course Evening Meal.

The non-residential price is €180 per person.
Price includes:
Two Days Hill Walking. Night Navigation.
