Begin with a guided tour of 15th century Ross Castle, one of the last Irish strongholds to fall to Cromwell. Then enjoy a leisurely stroll on good trails through ancient oak and yew woods, overlooking the limestone islands of Lough Leane, Bronze Age copper mines and the ruined abbey on Innisfallen Island.

Hike around the deep glaciated Muckross Lake on paved trails, past spectacular Torc Waterfall, through the vibrant Muckross Gardens to finish at 18th century Muckross House, with a coffee and cake from the delicious coffee and craft shop.

Explore the Old Kenmare Road, an ancient coach road and now part of the Kerry Way. Meander along a narrow trail through the oak woods of Killarney National Park, past ruined famine cottages and overgrown potato fields. Descend down beside Torc Waterfall and finish at Victorian Muckross House.
