Recently had the pleasure of attending the Learn To Lead Scramble Course with Nathan and have to admit it was one of the better outdoor courses I have attended. He ensured we all had a solid foundation to build upon, taking it from absolute 'Beginner' level to 'Lead' level. He also managed to ensure those that had some experience, like myself, were able to build on that and that the course didn't become too basic. A truly fantastic experience, in glorious weather, in the Caha Mountains of West Cork and MacGillycuddy Reeks of Kerry.
We spent a wonderful day kayaking with seals around Glengariff Bay. Everything was super organised by Mark, our guide. It was a great experience surrounded by magical wildlife. We were surprised by the seals around us and had the chance to contemplate them in their own habitat. Authentic nature experience. Mark also showed us edible sea weed! Thank you guys for the experience!
Awesome trip. I would highly recommend, I look forward to returning again. Our experienced guide Mark was very knowledgeable, set a chill and fun tone for the 3 hours, safety was a priority. I felt so comfortable after an hour on the water that Mark was even able to teach me to flip and upright my kayak! All the right gear was provided as part of the fee, I didn’t feel cold once, even after being in the water. Saw loads of seals, they swam near us as we kayaked and were on the rocks around us! I loved that we were encouraged to stay well back from them to not interfere with their natural habitat.
Absolutely great kayak trip. Beautiful lake. Three hours of insane adventure. William and Hester are the greatest guides I've ever met. Very friendly with great knowledge of local history and legends. Very highly recommended. Unforgettable experience. Thanks a lot guys 🙂
A brilliant instructor and a credit to his craft. Having completed both MS1 and MS2 with Nathan, I highly recommend him to anyone contemplating doing these courses. The vast knowledge that this man has, and so diligently delivered, his courses are really hard to beat.
Informative, inspirational, and unforgettable. Acquired skills and knowledge that I will always carry with me. Nathan is a fantastic teacher whose passion for nature and the art of mountaineering is very obvious. Learned a tremendous amount on the two different mountain skills courses I did with him. Nathan is patient, enthusiastic, diligent and very observant of everyone’s skill levels. It was an excellent launching pad for my own mountaineering journey and I sincerely hope to do more courses with him in the future
Nathan brought our group on a sunrise kayak tour which was nothing short of magical! He knew all the great spots to take us to, we managed to see baby seals, and even eagles! I loved how close we got to this beauty of nature but we were constantly reminded that we were guests in their home and kept enough distance as not to disturb. The whole time Nathan made sure we were safe and looked after, and shared so much of his knowledge with us. I cannot recommend doing a trip with him enough. A must do if you’re anywhere close to the area! I will definitely be back! Thank you so much Nathan!
Beautiful Sunrise Kayaking - an experience that will stay with me for life! I had the most amazing experience with Nathan guiding our dawn kayaking session. It was so peaceful gliding along the bay. Nathan had so much knowledge about all the flora and fauna of the area. We saw a lot of seals which was so incredible. We also saw an eagle perched up on top of a giant tree. Nathan always made sure we were not disturbing the animals by making too much noise or getting to close to them. It was lovely to see how much respect he had for the wildlife. I would highly recommend making this kayaking trip a part of your Glengarriff experience!
