What To Watch Out For With A Bushcraft Knife

Bushcraft Skills TrainingIf you’re getting a knife for bushcraft here’s some things to be aware of:

A penknife has great uses but not for bushcraft. The blade can snap easily at the hinge, plus the blade can fold onto your fingers.

A folding knife with a lockable blade, exactly the same issues as a penknife, no matter how good your blade lock is.
A fixed blade/rigid blade is good, however if you see the middle knife, the blade only extends partially into the handle, and it can snap under pressure, leaving you nothing really to work with.
The knife on the right has the blade extending right through the handle (called the tang) and this is the best.
